Terms of Service

These terms apply to your use of tonu.app (“Tonu.App”), operated by ChangKun Jiang (“we”, “us”). By using Tonu.App you agree to them.

1. The service

Tonu.App is a color toolkit: it extracts colors from images, makes palettes and posters, and exports them to design tools. The basic features are free and do not need an account.

2. Who can use it

You must be at least 13 years old, or older if the law where you live requires it (see our Privacy Policy).

3. Accounts

  • You can sign in with an email address or a Google account. Keep access to your email and devices secure; anyone who can read your sign-in emails can sign in as you.
  • Do not create accounts by automated means or use the sign-in form to send email to people who did not ask for it.

4. Your content

  • Images you use and the palettes and posters you make belong to you or their original creators. We claim no ownership.
  • When you share, you give us permission to store and display what you shared, only as needed to run the share link (the image is deleted after 24 hours; see the Privacy Policy).
  • Only use images you have the right to use, and keep the credit when you share someone else’s work.
  • Fonts you load yourself are your responsibility to license.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Tonu.App to share content that is illegal, infringing, sexually explicit, hateful or harassing. Do not attack, overload, scrape at scale, or try to get around the limits of the service. We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules.

6. Color names and data

Color names come from public standards and datasets and are used under their own licenses, listed on the site. On-screen color values are approximate and vary between screens and print conditions; check against a physical swatch for production work.

7. Paid features

If paid features are offered, their price and terms will be shown before you pay.

8. Disclaimer

Tonu.App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

9. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data, profits or revenue. Our total liability for any claim relating to Tonu.App is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$50. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

10. Ending use

You can stop using Tonu.App and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms, and we may change or discontinue the service, with notice where reasonable.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the People’s Republic of China, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved by the competent people’s court where the operator is located. This does not take away the mandatory protections you have under the law of the country where you live.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. If the changes are significant, we will show a notice on the site. Continuing to use Tonu.App after a change means you accept the new terms.
